2020, a year that saw a lot of sitting around, a lot of walking, and a lot of eating. A year that saw the introductions of lockdown bodies that we just want to remove. So, it is without any further conclusion that 2021 is a year where people want to play sport, a year where people want to get fit to remove their additional lockdown weight.
So, what are some of the best sports you can do to keep fit?
Running
One sport that is the easiest to start and is perfect for keeping you fit is running. All you need is a decent pair of running shoes and off you go. You can run anywhere you like and you’ll soon feel yourself beginning to feel more fit, running longer distances. A program has been started called Couch to 5K, helping people get off the couch to running 5K. An excellent program to take part in if you want to get into running.
Swimming
Now swimming pools have reopened, this is an excellent sport to take part in to keep you fit. It is a more relaxing option, that will keep you fit. You will find that every time you go swimming you can swim slightly further or slightly longer than the time before. It is important to remember with this sport it is not always about how fast you go, even a gentle swim will be burning calories, keeping you fit.
Tennis
This is a sport where you will need a partner to play with or a wall to hit the ball against. Even though it may look like a relaxing sport, tennis does use a lot of energy, especially if you are competitive. You’ll find you are running back and forth to hit the ball from either side of the court. Making for the perfect little workout to keep fit.
