Was it cruel of Hodgson to leave Drinkwater out?
Posted on May 31, 2016 at 6:19 pm
Roy Hodgson has released his squad of 23 to go to Euro 2016 and some say he was very cruel in his decision-making. Danny Drinkwater, a player who has proved himself all season at Premier League Champions Leicester City was left out, whilst Jack Wilshire was included yet he’s only just come back from injury. Leicester fans are rightly furious but even likes of former England captain Alan Shearer has announced his disappointment at the decision. Drinkwater was probably the best defensive player in the league last season, and okay so he may not bring goals to the party, but he would certainly bring excellent defensive skills and that could be something Roy Hodgson comes to regret. Hopefully, Danny Drinkwater can have another fine season next year and push on for England because he really deserves to.
Liverpool FC – Who’s going to be shown the door?
Posted on March 19, 2016 at 2:14 pm
It’s been a disanointing season for Liverpool, and as a fan myself; I can’t wait for the season to be over. We’re sitting at mid-table with a team of average players, and even the almighty Jurgen Klopp can’t help us! There’s going to be a lot of movement in the summer transfer window, and one man already on his way in is centre-back Joel Matip.
This may mean Skrtel, Toure or Sakho may depart, but there are plenty of other players fighting for their place. Here’s our rundown of players we think may leave this summer:
- Joe Allen
- Toure
- Mignolet
- Bogdan
- Balotelli
- Benteke
- Ibe
- Moreno
Time could well be up for all of these players, and we’re pretty sure Liverpool will be one of the busiest clubs in the transfer window. Let’s just hope key players like Sturridge and Coutinho stay.
A quiet transfer window for the big clubs
Posted on February 14, 2016 at 10:30 pm
On the whole, it was a rather quiet transfer period for the so-called ‘big teams’ like Liverpool, Manchester United, Man city, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham. Funnily enough, the team that spent the most was Newcastle, which made a big change, with Shelvey and Townsend the big two coming in. The rather quiet period suggests there will be big signings to be made during the summer, and we’ll have to wait another few months to see whether that’s the case. With Klopp yet to make a stamp on the Liverpool team and Guardiola joining Man City relatively soon, it would be strange if there weren’t any high profile signings. Manchester United may well be getting Jose Mourinho and we’re sure he too will want to make some changes, so perhaps the quiet window can mean a much more exciting summer period.
Has Hiddink turned things around?

So it’s been over a month since Chelsea sacked Mourinho, and things are actually starting to look better. The Blues have climbed the table, and they’ve actually picked up a bit of form, although they have had a fair few draws in recent weeks. The players seem happier, they seem to be giving more—which is natural considering they’re essentially playing for their futures at Stamford Bridge. Obviously, the season hasn’t gone to plan, and they’re unlikely to make top 4, or top 6 for that matter, but the storm seems to have passed, and there’s now the feeling that the only way is up. The win against Arsenal was huge, and it will certainly give the players a boost, but we’re sure this season could just be a blip and they may go back to being title contenders this time next year, depending on who the permanent manager is.
Getting Fit in 2016
Posted on December 27, 2015 at 9:42 pm
Many people will be thinking about working out early next year when the calorific Christmas period is out of the way. It’s easy to talk the talk though, and many people may start the year with a bang, going to the gym for several weeks before it all stops completely.
To become a regular ‘gym goer’ or ‘home exerciser’, you need to have one thing; motivation. If you really want to keep fit you have to change your lifestyle somewhat and create a new schedule. Working out isn’t easy, especially when you’re feeling fatigued after a long day’s work, but you just have to find the right balance. Do cardio one day, followed by weights the next, an abs workout the day after and then rest the next day. Then repeat the cycle. Choose workouts that can work out for you!
Can Chelsea bounce back?
Posted on December 13, 2015 at 11:11 pm
It’s amazing to see Chelsea so close to the relegation zone so close to Christmas. How is it possible to go from champions to relegation fighters in just a few moths? It’s a question no player, manager or pundit has been able to answer as yet.
Some people believe Mourinho has now lost the backing of the players and deserves to be sacked, but there’s no way a manager rated as one of the best in the world can lose his talents overnight. Every week we feel as though the team will go back to winning ways, but that just doesn’t look likely.
There may well have to be some business in the transfer window if Chelsea are to return to winning ways, but they need to get their confidence back first.

Jurgen Klopp, the man that lifted the Kop
Posted on October 18, 2015 at 10:40 pm
Okay, okay, so it’s early days for Jurgen Klopp. He’s only several games into his reign as Liverpool manager, but what he’s done over the last few weeks is quite amazing, he’s given Kopites belief! The players seem happier, more energetic and there are signs that the team is pressing higher, and playing more of the ‘heavy metal football’ that Klopp promised he would bring.
Rival teams won’t be worried right now though, and Klopp will need to bring in fresh faces. He needs time to bring in players that can fit in with his ideas, and there are likely to be plenty of Liverpool players on their way out the door come January. So far Klopp is winless but unbeaten, so there’s lots of improvement to be made, but he’s such a lovable character, and we are only expecting good things from him and his staff.

Getting Back to Full Fitness
Posted on September 2, 2015 at 5:01 pm
Fitness is everything to an athlete, and it doesn’t just come over night; it takes hard work and dedication. If you’re regularly involved in sports and you’ve recently had an injury then it can take some time to regain that fitness.
When you feel fit and healthy to start running again it’s important to take it slow. There’s no point in rushing back because you may do yourself more damage than good, and it can mean that you have to wait even longer to return back to good health.
A gentle jog is a good way to start while swimming can also be a nice way to ease back into ful fitness. You can then gradually pick up the pace or run and swim more frequently, and this along with a sensible diet will certainly see your fitness bounce back. If you’re looking to overcome a recent set back then make sure you do not rush yourself back.
Why Exercising at Home is Beneficial
Posted on August 28, 2015 at 4:00 pm
Sometimes, it can be difficult to maintain a full exercise routine which involves playing sport, going to a gym and exercising in the great outdoors. An easy way to motivate yourself and fit your exercise into your schedule is to begin an exercise routine at home. There are a number of ways you can do this, and it will make you far more likely to succeed, whatever your fitness goals.
You don’t need to install a full gym in order to get a good workout at home. There are a number of online resources available nowadays which can be used to get exercise inspiration. Some will give hints and tips about how to exercise, whereas others are interactive and you can follow them while you work out, like a boot camp. Fitness DVDs are also still popular, and new ones are being released all the time, so you can exercise in your own front room.
You can invest in minimal equipment to help you exercise without having to spend a lot of money. Buy some individual weights which you can lift, and a yoga mat so that you can do floor exercises. This will be plenty to start off with, and you can build up your collection of equipment over time if you want to. In the future, you may want to buy more weights and a weight bench so you don’t get bored of your routine.
A Quick Guide to Wimbledon 2015 (men’s singles)
Posted on June 20, 2015 at 9:44 pm
Wimbledon is back very soon, and who knows what’s in store over the next few weeks? Number one Novak Djokovic is the obvious favourite, but number 2 Federer is right behind him, and he’s been playing well of late.
The fan favourite Andy Murray will look to retain his title, and he’s second favourite among British bookies, while Stan Wawrinka and Nadal are outsiders. It’s looking as though Wimbledon 2015 will be Leighton Hewitt’s last major tournament, and that’s going to be a shame considering how popular he is among British tennis fans.
Number 75 seed Aljaz Bedene will look to impress, and at 25 he is showing signs of potential, but he’s got a long way to go before he fills Murray’s shoes. This year could be the year where there’s a real surprise, and players who have been pushed out of the spotlight, like Tsonga, Berdych, Lopez and Gasquet may cause a few upsets. It will certainly be an interesting tournament, but I’m sure we’ve all got our fingers crossed on Andy!
